Thank you to the teams for great play this year.

Thank you to all the fans for making it a great atmosphere.

Thank you to the officials for helping out this great tournament.

Thank you to the staff from all over the nation who make this the best tournament that NIRSA/NCCS runs...in my opinion :). From the operations staff to the field marshals, to the all tournament committees, to the blogger :), to the tournament directors to the NIRSA reps, to the hospitality staff, to the trainers and to everyone else I forgot to mention. It is a great staff, it is a great tournament! I look forward to this tournament every year! Can't wait to return next year!

Finally, a great big THANK YOU to the Reach 11 Sports Complex!

Men's Championship Preview

One thing for sure in the men's tournament is that nothing is for sure as to who will win. 4 years working the tournament, 4 different winners.

Pool A features 2 teams that will make comebacks after a year absence. 2009 championship consolation quarterfinalist California joins 2009 quarterfinalist Michigan State and 2010 Round of 16 team Navy to battle it out in Pool A.

Pool B has 2010 finalist Missouri hoping to make another run at getting to the final. Championship consolation semifinalist Colorado State and 2009 round of 16 team UCSB will hope to prevent that from happening.

Pool C features all 3 teams who are returning from a one year absence. 2009 championship consolation quarterfinalist Texas State joins 2009 Round of 16 team Ohio State and 2009 quarterfinalist Penn State.

Pool D had our defending national champion Colorado "Gold". Contrary to popular blog belief, they were not undefeated last year (my bad). But they did win the national championship. They are in a tough group with semifinalist Texas and quarterfinalist Cal Poly "A".

Pool E features 2010 quarterfinalist Florida, 2010 round of 16 team Michigan and 2010 open quarterfinalist UCONN.

Pool F has semifinalist Arizona, round of 16 team North Carolina and Indiana who returns for the first time since winning the 2008 national championship.

Pool G features quarterfinalist Northwestern, round of 16 team Texas A&M and 2009 Round of 16 team Georgia.

Pool H has round of 16 team Weber State, championship consolation semifinalist Delaware and championship consolation champion Minnesota.

It promises to be another tough exciting tournament. Will Colorado "Gold" repeat? 23 other men's teams will try and stop that from happening.

It begins...you guessed it...Thursday!

Women's Championship Preview

The "Drive for Five"..."One for the Thumb"...all tag lines for what could be a potential 5 year winning streak for 4-time defending national champion UC-Santa Barbara.

Pool A features the defending champions UCSB. 2009 Championship Consolation Semifinalist Colorado School of Mines and newcomer Texas Christian are tasked with trying to stop UCSB from advancing.

Pool B features tough match-ups for all. All 3 teams made the knockout round last year with one of them making the quarterfinals. Colorado "Gold" is that quarterfinalist. Virginia and Cornell hope to take what they learned last year further in this year's tournament.

Pool C features the finalist that could have stopped UCSB's streak. Texas lost in kicks from the mark last year over UCSB in the final. Their quest includes championship 2010 consolation quarterfinalist Delaware and 2010 consolation finalist Michigan.

Pool D features 2 teams with knockout round experience last year with the other making the knockout round when they were last here in 2009. The 2009 knockout round team was Cal Poly. They are joined by 2010 round of 16 teams Ohio State and North Carolina.

Pool E has a mixed bag of teams. 2009 quarterfinalist Michigan State is joined by 2010 round of 16 team Arizona and newcomer Washington University of St. Louis.

Pool F features semifinalist Penn State, quarterfinalist Florida and 2010 open competitor San Diego State.

Pool G has newcomer Indiana, 2010 championship consolation quarterfinalist Virginia Tech and quarterfinalist UCLA

Pool H is another mixed bag of schools. 2010 championship consolation semifinalist Colorado State, quarterfinalist Pittsburgh and round of 16 team Marquette will battle it to advance to the knockout round.

Will Texas end the streak? Will another team break through? Will I see any other women's team win? (Editor's note 4 years working tournament, 4 years UCSB has won). Or will it be a Fabulous Five for UCSB?

It begins Thursday!

Men's Open Division Preview

Men's Open features 11 schools with previous open or national tournament experience. 5 schools will compete in the open tournament for the first time.

Pool A features the defending open champions Cal Poly "B". They open the tournament versus newcomer Northern Arizona. UC Irvine returns to the open tournament after last making it in 2009 and will play Penn, a championship consolation quarterfinalist last year.

Pool B features USC who last played in the 2009 open division taking on Kennesaw State another newcomer to the open tournament. SUNY Cortland, 2010 open participant, will take on newcomer Northeastern.

Pool C has 2009 Open finalist San Diego State. They will take on 2010 open participant Villanova. 2010 open quarterfinalist Colorado "Black" will take on newcomer UC Santa Cruz.

Pool D has 2010 championship consolation finalist UCLA taking on championship consolation quarterfinalist Colorado School of Mines. Open semifinalist Texas "B" takes on newcomer UC San Diego.

This year's open field seems more wide open. Can Cal Poly "B" win again?

It all starts Thursday!

Women's Open Division Preview

The beginning of our previews begin with the Women's Open division.

Pool A features the defending open champions Illinois. The road to defend their open title begins in pool play with Kennesaw State, a newcomer to the tournament, along with 2010 Championship Consolation Champion Arizona State and USC who also competed in the open tournament last year.

Pool B features 2010 open finalist Colorado "Black". They will open up against Salt Lake Community College a team returning to play in the open tournament again. Joining them will be 2009 open competitor Middle Tennessee State and 2010 open quarterfinalist Northeastern.

Pool C features all 4 teams who competed in last year's open tournament including 2010 open semifinalist Oregon. They open up against SUNY Cortland. Open quarterfinalist James Madison will open with Vanderbilt.

Pool D features the other 2010 open semifinalist Missouri who will open play against Northern Arizona who also competed in open last year. California, championship consolation quarterfinalist in 2010, will take on Villanova, also returning from last year.

Will all final four teams make it again this year? Will a new champion emerge? Will Illinois repeat?

It all begins tomorrow!
